IBM, AMD launch quantum error correction platform

IBM and AMD have launched a new platform that combines IBM's 120-qubit Nighthawk processor with AMD's Umbra supercomputer to test quantum error correction in real time.

Shay Boloor noted that as quantum systems increase in scale, they require more classical computing power to manage and reduce errors.

Shay Boloor has previously reported on fast-moving launches in the tech sector, noting that Apple's foldable iPhone Duo sold out in minutes after preorders opened. In another recent note, Boloor covered Elon Musk's warning that debt markets are largely closed to AI-only neocloud companies. Both developments highlight the pace and funding challenges seen across cutting-edge technology markets.
